How NIK Wedding Photography collects, uses and protects your personal data. Last updated 21 October 2026.
1. Who I am
NIK Wedding Photography is a wedding photography and videography business based in Bradford, West Yorkshire. I am the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can contact me at hello@nikphotography.co.uk or on +44 7728 620343.

3. How and why I use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before a contract, and my legitimate interest in running my business.
- To provide your photography and film services, including planning, shooting, editing, delivering and storing your work. Legal basis: performing my contract with you.

I do not sell your personal data, and I do not send marketing emails without your consent.
4. Photos and guests
At weddings I photograph and film guests as part of covering the day. I use these images to deliver your gallery and film. I will not publish images that identify guests in my marketing without the couple's permission, and I will remove an image from my website or social media if you ask.
5. Who I share your information with
I only share information with trusted services that help me run the business, and only what they need. These can include email and messaging providers, online gallery and cloud storage providers, payment providers, my accountant, my website host, Web3Forms (which delivers contact form enquiries to my inbox), and Google if you accept analytics. They act on my instructions or have their own data protection duties. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK, in which case I use providers with appropriate safeguards.
6. How long I keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: up to 12 months.
- Booking, contract and payment records: 6 years, for accounting and legal reasons.
- Online galleries: for the period stated in your package.
- Archived photos and films: up to 3 years after your wedding, so I can re-supply files if you lose them, unless you ask me to delete them sooner.
7. Cookies and analytics
This website does not need cookies to work. I ask for your choice when you first visit.
- Analytics (optional): if you click Accept, I load Google Analytics, which uses cookies to count visits and see which pages are useful. If you click Reject, it is not loaded.
- Embedded and third-party content: the contact page includes a Google Map, and the site loads fonts from Google Fonts and images from third-party servers. These providers can receive your IP address and may set their own cookies. Please see Google's privacy information for details.
You can change your choice at any time:
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask me to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your data, object to my use of it, receive a copy of the data you gave me, and withdraw consent at any time. To use these rights, email hello@nikphotography.co.uk. I aim to reply within one month.
9. Keeping your data safe
I keep your information in secure, password-protected systems and limit who can access it. No system is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information such as payment card details by email or message.
10. Complaints and changes
If you are unhappy with how I handle your data, please contact me first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. I may update this policy from time to time, and the date at the top shows when it last changed.
